Yeah, I think I kinda agree. I mean, sometimes I think God wants you to do something specific. Like I really believe that I was supposed to move here, and that God has some specific reason for my being here. But I think we focus too much on it in everything.

So you aren't an Obama fan? I think he'll be hailed as a great president because he'll be compared to Bush. Like how Mbeki is often portrayed negatively despite his quality compared to many current African leaders because he followed Mandela.

yo man, I love this ... the trinity as the theological basis for our need for community was a big part of a sermon i did a couple of months ago. That was the first part of the meatiness of the sermon, the second was envisioning how our community should work from Romans 12:9-16. I was really happy with how it worked.

I think drawing attention to our creation in the image of God in this area is important. God exists in community. That's why we have a need for community; we are created in his image.

I really like the point about the rich young ruler having a wife and two kids. Somehow, that really makes the command hit home more, and makes it much harder for me to avoid being convicted.

good post - I read somewhere recently that we are little creations sent out to continue the work of the Creator by creating...so I guess the same could be said of our call to healing. I have been healed by the Healer to go out and heal.
